ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in driving EG Australia’s financial performance. You will partner closely with senior management to deliver meaningful insights, guide strategic decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

 

This role focuses on developing detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and profitability reporting, while also translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Collaborating with operations and merchandise teams, you will influence both store-level initiatives and national strategies, combining a strong attention to detail with a high-level strategic perspective.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES IN A SNAPSHOT

Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to drive impactful business outcomes through insights, analysis, and actionable recommendations.
  • Support a structured continuous improvement funnel to capture, evaluate, and implement ideas that enhance business performance, efficiency, and customer value.
  • Translate data into actionable insights, clearly articulating the 'so what' to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage forecasting and budget drivers for business partners and the Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead budget preparation for cost lines, stores, and initiatives.
  • Communicate results and recommendations to senior management, focusing on improvements that drive cost reduction, revenue generation, and streamlined operations.
  • Provide insights to senior management regarding market trends, modelling, forecasts, and profitability, enabling informed strategic decisions.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepare business cases to support new investments, strategic initiatives, and other business decisions, while fostering business case acumen across the company.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Business, or a Finance related discipline
  • Prior Finance Management experience in a retail or commercial environment with strong analytical and data-reporting skills in SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset to improve efficiencies across a complex business.
  • A great team player able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who is curious, committed, and driven to challenge their own and others’ thinking.
  • Strong communicator with an ability to translate insights through concise and clear reporting.
