ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll play a key role in leading day-to-day Accounts Payable operations and influencing continuous improvement across the finance function. You will use your expertise to resolve complex finance issues, mentor team members and drive process improvement, ensuring supplier payments are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing end-to-end Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, reconciliations and payment execution.
- Resolving complex supplier, payment and reconciliation issues while acting as an escalation mentor for the team
- Supporting month-end, year-end and audit activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Identifying process improvements and supporting automation, system enhancements and business transformation initiative
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the business.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Extensive experience in high-volume and or multi-site Accounts Payable functions
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex financial data and overlapping priorities whilst maintaining accuracy
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset and the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
- Confidence working both independently and as a part of a broader team, collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Resilience under pressure, with the ability to priorities tasks, manage deadlines and adapt to changing demands
- Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP systems
