About the Role:
We are seeking a commercially focused Data Analyst to act as a key business partner to the Head of Fuel. Supporting fuel strategy, operational performance, and decision-making across the business. This role is stakeholder-led, requiring strong relationship management with senior leaders, international country heads, and in-country operations teams. The role requires a strong technical understanding of data and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, and SQL, alongside the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, practical insight that supports senior leadership and operational decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, resolve fuel management issues, and contribute to system optimisations. If you have a strong analytical mindset and a passion for enhancing fuel operations through data-driven insights, we encourage you to apply today!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as the key analytical and business support to the Head of Fuel, developing a deep understanding of business priorities, expectations, and strategic focus areas.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders, international country heads, and in-country operations teams, acting as a trusted and credible partner.
  • Engage regularly with operations teams to understand on-the-ground challenges and ensure analysis reflects operational realities.
  • Analyse fuel, pricing, and wetstock performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Produce ad-hoc analysis and reporting in response to senior leadership and operational requests, often under tight timeframes.
  • Apply strong Excel capability to perform detailed analysis, validation, and scenario-based assessments.
  • Use SQL and Python for data extraction, processing, automation, and advanced analytics to enhance pricing competitiveness.
  • Monitor fuel movements, deliveries, stock levels, and variances, working closely with operations teams to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports used for decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and ways of working across the Fuel function.

This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in an analytical or commercial role, supporting business performance and working closely with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI (or similar BI tools), with the ability to build, adapt, and interpret dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis, validation, and insight generation, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and interrogating datasets to support analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insight clearly and confidently to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective collaborator with strong business partnering skills, able to support both senior stakeholders and operational teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
