About the Role:

EG Group are looking for a Banking Specialist to support the delivery of accurate and efficient banking operations within a fast-paced Shared Services Finance environment. Reporting to the Banking Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining bank accounts, processing daily transactions, and ensuring timely completion of reconciliations in line with financial control requirements.

 

You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, ensuring all banking activity is completed accurately and within agreed service levels. This role would suit someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with high volumes of financial data while contributing to continuous improvement across the finance function.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Processing and posting daily banking transactions, including receipts, payments, and Direct Debits, ensuring accuracy and correct allocation.
  • Maintaining bank GL accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and kept up to date.
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations within reporting deadlines, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Monitoring bank statement uploads and ensuring transactions are correctly captured and allocated within the system.
  • Supporting payment runs and ensuring banking activity is completed in line with agreed timelines and controls.
  • Working closely with internal teams to resolve queries and provide updates on banking-related activity.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, controls, and efficiency within the banking function.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a finance or banking role, ideally within a Shared Services or high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, transactional processing, and financial controls.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP (desirable).
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently with large volumes of data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and SLAs.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach.
