About the Role:

EG Group are looking for a Head of Finance to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the European finance function. As a key member of the European Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of financial stewardship, governance, risk management, control, and regulatory compliance across multiple European jurisdictions.

 

Acting as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and the US parent organisation, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial discipline, supporting strategic decision-making, and enabling long-term business performance.

 

This role will lead a European country finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, robust governance frameworks, and high-quality financial insight, whilst driving consistency, capability, and operational excellence across the region.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing strategic leadership to the European finance organisation, ensuring alignment with regional priorities, Group objectives, and long-term business goals.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to support business performance, investment decisions, organisational change, and strategic decision-making.
  • Leading the delivery of accurate financial reporting, performance analysis, and insights to support Executive and Board-level decision-making.
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, governance frameworks, and compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and Group reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Overseeing external audits and managing relationships with auditors, banking partners, advisors, and other key external stakeholders.
  • Leading financial risk management, treasury, liquidity, working capital, and foreign exchange activities across the European business.
  • Driving finance transformation, process optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining ownership of end-to-end finance processes.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) with significant senior finance leadership experience within a large, multinational organisation.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams across multiple countries, legal entities, and currencies.
  • Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, controls, governance, treasury, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience operating within a complex, highly regulated environment, ideally within a US-owned or globally matrixed business.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience driving finance transformation, process improvement, and organisational change initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders, executives, and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Strategic, commercially minded, and able to translate complex financial information into clear insights that support business decision-making.
